Michal Clements

Michal Clements is Managing Principal of Insight to Action (ITA), a strategy consultancy. She began her strategy consulting at Booz & Co., followed by more than ten years as a partner with The Cambridge Group and ten years running her own firms (first Orrington Strategies, then Insight to Action, Inc.).

Michal specializes in developing proprietary insights about B2C and B2B customer groups to drive action oriented recommendations and business strategies for foodservice, consumer products, financial services, and business-to-business clients. In 2015 and 2016, she has led several foodservice assignments.

 In 2016, conduct foodservice market demand assessment for Canada in four categories: condiments, sauces, dressings and margarine. Assessment included: market sizing for foodservice, drivers of growth, unmet needs/trends, prospect and account assessment.  Capacity assessment to identify needs for capital investment.  Recommendations were adopted.

In 2015, interview thirty school decision makers with a focus on pizza.  Understand product needs, client performance, competitor performance and opportunities for innovation and product development.   Recommendations were adopted and client is experiencing growth in this segment.

In 2016, develop a long term strategy for a food client’s core product category in foodservice (#1), retail (#2) and industrial (#3). Leverage Supply Track data and other sources.  Assess competitors, understand trend impact. Recommendations were adopted.

Michal holds an MBA with a Finance concentration from The Wharton School.  She has a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Wharton with majors in Marketing and International Business.  Michal leads Los Angeles Career Networking events for the Trustees Council for Penn Women and the Penn So Cal Connection initiative with Spark Collaboration.

Teri Lucie Thompson

Teri Lucie Thompson

Teri Lucie Thompson is a marketing and communications innovator, who currently serves as the Chief Marketing Officer and Associate Vice Chancellor of Marketing & Communications for the University of Texas System. Prior to joining Texas in April 2016, she was the Senior Vice President of University Relations and Chief Marketing Officer at the University of Arizona, with responsibility for marketing; communications; legislative and community relations; alumni relations and the institution’s public media properties. She also served as Vice President Marketing and Media and Chief Marketing Officer at Purdue University. Thompson has been honored by a number of organizations for her marketing leadership. In 2016 she received the Distinguished Alumni Award at Illinois State University; in 2012, she was named the American Marketing Association’s Higher Education Marketer of the Year; in 2011, she received the American Advertising Federation’s Lifetime Achievement Award; and in 2010, she received the Stevie Award as Marketing Executive of the Year.

Prior to leading higher education brands, Thompson spent 14 years in the financial services sector in a range of marketing and public relations roles, including Vice President of Marketing for Safeco Insurance. Thompson earned her bachelor’s degree in English and master’s degree in education from Illinois State University. She completed her certification in New Product Development at the University of Michigan. She is co-author of "Tuning into Mom: Understanding America’s Most Powerful Consumer" (2011).
